Specific care after an intensive workout

Avoid stressful situations

It is important for our equine leisure time partner that we offer him appropriate care after an intensive workout, in order to help him quickly recharge his batteries. This should start with thoroughly picking the hooves to free them from potential debris. If the coat is sweaty it is best cleaned through brushing or washing. Rolling, too, is a rather pleasant activity for most horses after exercise.

After a real hard work-out it is advisable to cool down strained legs, in order to counteract inflammatory processes. This will help enlarged vessels to contract again, thus preventing fluid accumulation (swollen legs). Legs can be cooled down with water. This, however, is time consuming and the effect is not very long lasting. We recommend our specially developed products, Cold Pack, Cold Legs or Mineral Pack plus Arnica

These products guarantee a long lasting cool-down effect.  Specially selected ingredients like arnica, rosemary oil and frankincense resin enhance the circulation and contain anti-inflammatory properties. Muscles and joints are helped to relax and recover.

In addition to very specific care, there are other factors which help a horse to recharge after a hard work-out. The horse should be allowed to move about, and its surroundings should be kept calm, in order to avoid stress.
